Are You Using Blacklisted Backlinks? Check Now
A couple of months ago I started an experiment to see if it was possible to grow my Twitter traffic & reach without doing a huge amount of work using TweetAttacks pro.
I have tried a few different approaches over that time and have fine tuned the method to require as little work as possible to get the biggest results possible.
In this tutorial I’m going to share the results with you and then show you how you can do it yourself!
What You Will Learn
- How to increase Twitter followers
- How to double Twitter traffic & reach
- How to automate the entire process
- The exact strategy I used
- How to set it all up in less than 30 minutes
Twitter Experiment Results Reveal
To kick things off I’m going to show the results of my experiment and then we’ll move into how I did it.
The entire experiment took me less than 30 minutes to setup and since then I have not had to do any additional work.
All of the growth is happening on complete auto pilot which is just how I like to do things so I can focus my limited time elsewhere while everything is growing.
Below you can see a summary of the results before & after the experiment-
When | Followers | Reach | ReTweets | Daily Traffic |
---|---|---|---|---|
Before | 3,873 | 1,271,179 | 65 | 34.35 |
After | 5,174 | 2,536,830 | 193 | 69.64 |
If we look at that in percentage terms-
- 33.59% increase in followers
- 99.56% increase in reach
- 196.92% increase in retweets
- 102.73% increase in traffic
They are some very nice increases across the board for not much work!
Twitter Counter
To show you what that looks like in graph from lets take a look at what TwitterCounter has tracked.
You can quite clearly see the impact the experiment had almost immediately after starting on July 8th 2014.
You will also notice that it flat lines at the start of August – that is due to my VPS crashing and I was at Affiliate Summit, my bad.
Twitonomy
Let’s also take a look at the stats provided by Twitonomy before and after the experiment.
Before
Here you can see the key Twitonomy metrics before the experiment-
Take note of the reach number in the bottom right corner!
After
Here you can see the key Twitonomy metrics after the experiment-
Google Analytics
While we are delving into the data let’s also take a look at the uplift in traffic via Google Analytics.
Overview
Here you can see the Google Analytics results for the period Jun 8th 2014 – September 6th 2014 broken down by week.
A Closer Look
We can also take a closer look at those graphs to get more clarification.
Before – 34.35 Visits Per Day Average
After – 69.64 Visits Per Day Average
Take note of the different scales used on the analytics graphs above. The before shot uses 0-100 while the after shot uses 0-140.
How Did I Do It?
So now you’ve seen the results of the experiment, it’s time to show you precisely how I did it so you can replicate the results!
This is exact setup I’m running-
- Follow anyone that uses the #SEO hashtag
- Unfollow anyone that doesn’t follow back within 7 days
- Auto tweet articles that hit the front page of inbound.org
- Favourite tweets that contain the #SEO hashtag
- Auto tweet previous content from the archives
It took me less than 30 minutes to set all of that up to run on complete auto pilot day in day out while I’m doing other things.
To do that I’m using a VPS from PowerUpHosting along with the Tweet Attacks Pro 3 software.
How To Setup Tweet Attacks Pro
Tweet Attacks Pro is an automation tool for Twitter and allows you to do a bunch of different things spread across multiple accounts. You can really do some damage with the tool if you scale it.
I could have been much more aggressive with the tool however for this blog I decided to take it easy with some strict settings to grow things slowly and steadily.
It is easy to go overboard with automation software like TweetAttacks Pro so you need to show some discipline and restraint when you use it.
I’m using the cheapest version of Tweet Attacks Pro that allows you to work with a single Twitter account.
Step 1 – Setup Your Twitter Acccount
The first thing you need to do in TweetAttacks Pro is add your Twitter account(s) to the software.
This is easy to do, just click on Add Account–
Then follow the onscreen instructions and enter your username and password. Once done Tweet Attacks Pro will pull in relevant data for your account from Twitter.
Step 2 – Setting Up The Main Task
Now we can move straight into setting up our main task. Each ‘task’ can have multiple things running.
In the main task we are going to setup-
- Follow/Unfollow
- Auto tweeting
- Auto favourites
To do that just click on the Task(s) Manager tab along the top of the software and then Create Task.
Once you have done that you will see a screen like the below.
In this screen we need to setup our basic settings that will govern all of the tasks we setup.
Feel free to copy the settings I have used here-
With the basic settings setup we can now move onto to setting up the following, tweeting & favourites etc.
Setting Up Auto Follow
When you click on the Follow tab you will be given a whole host of options to choose from. The idea here is to follow relevant people in the hope that they follow you back.
First of all I set the task to only run between 9am and 6pm so it looks natural as if an employee is doing it during working hours.
You can choose to find people to follow through a variety of means such as keyword search, hash tag search, importing users or an advanced search.
If you wanted to follow all of the people that mention someone like John Chow for example you could use the advanced search to find tweets mentioning @johnchow.
However I chose to find people to follow that were using the #SEO hash tag.
As you can see there are lots of options for you to choose from so take a look at each of them and work out what is best for you.
Again – feel free to just copy the settings I have used. You could go much more aggressive than that but I decide to limit how many people I follow with decent time delays.
Setting Up Auto Unfollow
Now we have a task set up to follow people that are relevant to our website, we need to setup a task to unfollow those that don’t follow us back.
So jump over to the unfollow tab and take a look at the settings, again I have it setup to only run during working hours.
In essence it automatically unfollows anyone that hasn’t followed back after 7 days. It is setup to only unfollow people that have been followed with the program in the first place.
Setting Up Auto Tweeting
To help grow engagement with my Twitter profile I wanted to automate the tweeting of high quality relevant content from the internet marketing niche.
Not only would this help grow engagement but it would also help to build relationships with people as I share their content with my followers.
The problem was finding a source of high quality content that I could trust to auto tweet out. I took a look at Inbound.org, AffPosts.com & Kingged.com that aggregate internet marketing content from around the web.
I decided to take advantage of the RSS feed that Inbound.org provides of all the best content that gets voted to the front page by the community. That way I could be 100% confident it was high quality & relevant as it had been voted up by the community.
So with the RSS URL in hand I jumped over to the Tweet tab in Tweet Attacks Pro–
Here I set it up to tweet out the title of the content along with the URL with a maximum of 1 tweet per hour limited to 10 per day.
Again this was setup to only run during the 9am-6pm ‘working hours’ of my social media employee bot.
Setting Up Auto Favourite
The last section we need to setup for our main task is the auto favourite.
In essence what this does is automatically favourite tweets that match your search criteria – it is pretty simple.
But where the magic happens here is by default when one of your Tweets gets favourited, you get sent an email-
This will prompt people to check out who favorited their tweet and if your lucky – follow you!
So jump over to the Favorite tab in Tweet Attacks Pro and set it up how you desire. I set it up to purely favourite tweets that used the #SEO hashtag.
As you can see there are a range of options to choose from but I kept everything simple!
Step 3 – Auto Tweeting Your Content
Now we have the main task setup to auto follow, unfollow, tweet popular content and favourite relevant tweets we want to setup a separate task dedicated to driving traffic to our site.
To do that we need to-
- Get a list of URLs we want to promote
- Scrape the titles of the posts
- Create a text file of unique tweets
There is a little bit more work required here but bear with me and I’ll show you how to do it quickly. It is also worth noting that Tweet Attacks Pro accepts spun content which you can create with any popular article spinner software like The Best Spinner.
Getting A List Of URLs
If you are running Wordpress then it’s likely you have an XML sitemap. Personally I run the Yoast SEO plugin which creates multiple sitemaps.
I just loaded up the posts sitemap in my browser and copied it into excel.
Then I removed the extra columns so I was just left with a list of URLs – I went through this and deleted any that I felt were irrelevant or not suitable to tweet out.
Looking Up The Titles
With the list of URL’s I want to auto tweet out loaded in Excel I took advantage of the amazing SEO Tools for Excel plugin.
It is 100% free and allows you to do some pretty cool things which you should explore but for the purpose of this experiment we just want to look up the titles for our list of URLs.
Just use the HTMLTitle function to do that!
Spinning In Hash Tags
Then I went through each of the titles and spun in hashtags against relevant words. For example-
How To Index Your Backlinks Easily – Revealing My Case Study Results
Became-
{#|}How To Index Your {#|}Backlinks Easily – Revealing My Case Study Results
That would randomly add a hashtag to the words ‘How’ and ‘Backlinks’ when it was Tweeted out.
At this point my spreadsheet looks like this with a list of URL’s and titles spinning in hashtags at random-
Spinning A Prefix
To help make the Tweets even more unique and random I decided to quickly spin in a prefix to every tweet.
The idea is the final tweet would come out with a structure like this-
*prefix* *title* *url*
So I spent 30 seconds writing and spinning the prefix that would be attatched to the start of every Tweet that goes out.
This is the prefix I created-
{{Throwback|Throw back}{ post| tutorial| guide|}:|{Archive|{Previously|Earlier}}:}
If you load that into The best spinner software you can see how it works.
Putting It All Together
So now we have a list of spun prefixes (column A), titles with hash tags spun in at random (column B) and URLs (column C).
Now all we need to do is put all of that together to come up with our final list of tweets to import into Tweet Attacks Pro to post.
So in column D of the spreadsheet I just wrote the following formula-
=A1&B1&C1
Which created a list of the final tweets, for example-
{{Throwback|Throw back}{ post| tutorial| guide|}:|{Archive|{Previously|Earlier}}:} Update #3: {#|}Ahrefs vs Majestic SEO – The 1 Million {#|}Domain Showdown https://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/seo/tools/ahrefs-vs-majestic/
Here is what the final spreadsheet of tweets looks like-
Then all I did is highlight all of column D with the final tweet constructed and copy it into a txt notepad file with each tweet on its own line.
You can download my spreadsheet template along with the final tweet file for reference by sharing the page below.
So with a list of spun Tweets created we can now go about loading them into Tweet Attacks Pro and scheduling them to go out.
Importing The Tweets
In Tweet Attacks Pro move to the Message Manager tab and then click on Add Message Category and name it whatever you want – mine is called Blog Promo.
Then click on that category/folder in the left pane and click on Add Message and give the set of messages a name – mine are called Blog Posts.
Once you have done that click on the name you entered for the set of messages in the left pane and click on Import and select the txt file containing your tweets.
Scheduling The Tweets
Once you have imported your tweets into the message manager we need to setup a separate task dedicated to tweeting them out.
To do that jump back to the Task(s) Manager tab and click on Create Task.
Like the last time we created a task we must first setup the basic settings as follows-
Once you have set those up you can jump across to the Tweet tab which we will use to tweet out all of the messages we have just imported.
Last time we used this screen to auto tweet messages from an RSS feed but this time we are going to set things up a little differently.
First of all click on Basic Tweet then click on Select Message and select your group of messages – in my case they were called Blog Posts.
You can see the exact settings I used in the screenshot above. Take note that I have shorten URL enabled and restricted it to a maximum of 1 per hour upto a total of 6 per day.
Once you have done that just hit Save!
Step 4 – Starting The Tasks
So at this point we have 2 tasks setup. The first one takes care of auto following/unfollowing, tweeting out popular content and auto favouriting relevant tweets.
The second task is purely focused on tweeting out our posts using spun prefixes at random hashtags.
Now all we need to do is start the tasks!
So to do that just click on Check all tasks and then click on Run checked tasks at the top.
You are given the option to run the tasks one time, run them until you stop them or run them until a specific date. Personally I always choose run them until I stop them manually.
As soon as you hit OK Tweets Attacks Pro will do its thing and you will see your tasks turn green.
And that is all there is to it!
Tweet Attacks Pro will now auto following/unfollow, tweet out popular content, auto favourite relevant tweets and tweet out your old content on complete auto pilot.
After it has been running for an hour or two check out your Twitter profile and make sure everything is running smoothly.
If it is – you are done. Now you can just leave this running all day every day to do the heavy lifting while you focus your time elsewhere.
Wrapping It Up
So there you have it – how to increase your Twitter traffic, reach, followers and retweets on complete auto pilot.
I just leave Tweet Attacks Pro running on my VPS 24/7 and it automatically gets to work at 9am every morning. It is never late and never phones in sick – it just does what it you tell it to do!
Just to recap on the results leaving this running for a total of 7 weeks resulted in-
- 33.59% increase in followers
- 99.56% increase in reach
- 196.92% increase in retweets
- 102.73% increase in traffic
Not bad for a total cost of $67 and 30 minutes of my time setting everything up. All I do now is spot check that everything is working properly every couple of weeks.
So while Tweet Attacks Pro does all of the hard work I can focus on creating more content and setting up more experiments for you all!

Hey Matthew,
Great job.
I read a lot of blog posts and I never heard a topic like this. I LOVE this topic you made about this Twitter bot.
Thanks very much, come back soon.
I have been using Twitter for a long time. I switched to Wizugo marketing tool to automate my Twitter account, and I must say that WizUgo worked pretty amazing in boosting my Twitter account performance. It is saving my time and increasing my followers each day.
Thanks for the recommendation Gloria!
Without any doubt i want to say it is an Awesome tutorial, We need to follow some traffic driving tips like it. Really, first time I’ve heard of Tweet Attacks Pro. Definitely will give a try.
Thanks for sharing your experiments with us. Eager to learn more from you, Bookmarked!
Great to hear, thanks for the book mark
Hello,
We are truly appreciative for your blog entry. You will discover a great deal of methodologies in the wake of going by your post. I was precisely hunting down. Much obliged for such post and please keep it up. Extraordinary work done.
Regards,
Karishma
Thanks Karishma
Thanks for sharing this Matthew – there are a few tips I really want to try out for myself. I will be interested to see the results.
No problem sir!
Hey Matt. Quick question. You mentioned you only ran one account with the VPS, can you run multiple? And if so, would you still need proxies for each account or will the VPS keep you secured for multiple accounts?
Yes you can run multiple and you would still need more proxies
Thanks…
Hi Matt,,
I was wondering, when you talk about your VPS, this is a webserver right?
How do you install the twitter bot on there, I thought you could only run it from a desktop computer or a laptop.
Thanks in advance
A VPS is just a machine running Windows somewhere that you remote desktop into and use just like your sat in front of a normal Windows based computer. I use PowerUpHosting for that
Hey Matt,
do you think this strategy might work for a social community that deals with psychics, etc.?
thanks
Yes it would work anywhere, just be careful not to abuse it as its a powerful tool!
This is very nice my friend I will try it thanks.
Please let us know how you get on!
Would be great to have something similar for tweetattackspro 4 because it is completely different :/
You can apply the strategies with any tool
Yes that is true, i got the toll yesterday but still the setup steps are totally different and new users have to watch their instruction videos otherwise comes hard to understand everything. I had to watch their 2-3 video just to understand how the system works and still having problems with the setup ahah..
Anyway i still think the tool is awesome and once i understand most of the settings and stuff it will become another powerful tool of my personal inventory ;)
cheers..
Hey Mathew, are you still using tweet attacks pro and is it still increasing your traffic?
I don’t have it running right now as I don’t have the time to manage it
Hey matt, im having problem with my own tweet the second tweet because it says can’t tweet due to interval?
Your tweeting faster than your limits allow
Which software is better: Tweet Attack Pro or FollowLiker?
TweetAttacksPro for sure!
Hi Matthew,
Thanks for the awesome tutorial.
One question…
Is it essential to be using a proxy for this software?
Am I much more likely to get banned (even if I have programmed the software to look like a human) if I am not using a proxy?
Thanks!
Dan
If you are only running 1 twitter account then dont worry about it, if you are running more just grab some semi dedicated from BuyProxies
Great, thanks!
Dan
Hi Matthew,
I was wondering are you still using Tweet Attacks Pro for tasks like follow, unfollow, favorite etc… ??
the reason why I’m asking is I can’t use Tweet Attacks Pro to follow people on twitter anymore and I’m not getting even single follow from that software.
could tell me what software are you using for that ?
Thank you.
Regards.
I would get in touch with support directly to see what is going wrong
Hi Alex, did you manage to get in touch with Tweet Attack Pro to see if this is working?
I want to sign up but want to be sure all features work effectively.
Thanks,
Dan
excellent , i would like to ask, how much does the tweet attack pro cost ?, and secondly do i have to always leave my system on ? to get it running .
thank you.
Just click through and you can see, sometimes the price changes. Yes your system must be on/running for it to run or you can use VPS like PowerUpHosting
Hmm i also think it’s an awesome kit of bit!!!!
That makes two of us :)
Hi Matthew,
Without any doubt i want to say it is an Awesome tutorial, We need to follow some traffic driving tips like it. Really, first time I’ve heard of Tweet Attacks Pro. Definitely will give a try.
Thanks for sharing your experiments with us. Eager to learn more from you, Bookmarked!
Yeah it’s an awesome bit of kit :)
Thanks for the explanation of what you did.
Tweet Attacks needs to clarify on their site that the software runs on a server as I am much happier with that. I thought it was desktop software having seen it earlier and dismissed it as didn’t want to tie up my computer.
Dale.
Eh? It’s a windows tool which runs on most versions of windows. Whether thats your personal laptop or a windows based VPS server is irrelevant
It’s been 3 months now. Any sales from your activities? I am getting bombarded by MOBE affiliate who was promoting Empower Network last year with the same, this is it, the system that you have been waiting for.
Take a look through my income reports
Just bought Tweet Attacks now from your link! I bought the license for 5 accounts and with the BlackFriday deal it was a no brainer. Thanks for sharing the deals.
Thanks :)
Hey Matt,
The 20% discount link takes me to your resources page. Is the discount still available?
Thanks,
Akbar
Ahhh it is there now :)
Thanks Matt,
Just got in through your link… hope to get some traction on twitter for my new E-Commerce site.
BTW, can you suggest some good resources (articles) on ecommerce SEO? I am just launching my first online retail store in a weeks time… and honestly i am just the one man army just now… doing everything myself. Hence, i thought this tool would help me in twitter marketing. Also, is twitter a good platform to promote your niche.. I am into “Women’s Apparel” niche with my own products to sell.
Thanks :)
Read through my Ecommerce SEO guide.
For the RSS feeds do you have to create a new task every time you want to add a new RSS Feed or is there a way to just add more to the current task?
You can only use 1, but use rssmix.com to merge your RSS feeds into 1 :)
Thank you for the tip you should really add that to the tut as it would help others. :)
Can’t give all the secrets away :P
Thanks for Giving Very Valuable Information and simply awesome article
No problem :)
Hi Matthew, I hope you had a great weekend?
The blog I’m driving traffic to does not have a lot of content at the moment so what other tactic would you suggest for ”Step 3 – Auto Tweeting Your Content” to get traffic from Twitter to my blog using this method?
The Tweet settings you suggested are getting me 3-4 in auto Tweeting (i.e. the RSS Tweets) and 5-6 in ”Step 3 – Auto Tweeting Your Content” over a 12 hour period. Would you say this is sufficient Tweeting for your system to work or do I need to increase it and if so by how much?
With the RSS Tweets I’m not getting Tweets which are very relevant to my niche which is making money online. How can I get Tweets which are more targeted and engaging?
What are your conversion figures like – % clicking through and % sales?
How do you warm up your Twitter traffic?
I use these follow/unfollow rates – what do you think about them?
For newly created accounts only follow 200-400 per day until reaching 700 followers.
After 700 followers, make it 300-500 a day until you reach 1000
Then 400-600 until you reach 2000.
When you have 2000 followers follow 900 – 1000 a day.
Unfollow users who don’t follow you back after 2 days so you can follow more people per day.
Many thanks.
Hi,
Just focus on building your following/engagement so you have an audience ready for when you do have enough content to promote.
Really there is no ‘right’ settings, just set things up then see how your feed looks after a couple of days.
OK Matthew, will do and thanks for your guidance on this!
Perhaps you missed these two?
What are your conversion figures like – % clicking through and % sales?
How do you warm up your Twitter traffic?
I’m beginning to get some encouraging results in my GA stats re the improvement in quality of my Twitter traffic and the better engagement of them on my blog. I’ll keep you and the others on here up-to-date with my results!
Hi,
I don’t really warm them up so to speak, just engage them and provide high quality content
OK Matthew, thanks but it looks like I need to feed you 1 Q at a time as you still missed this one lol:~
What are your conversion figures like – % clicking through and % sales?
Hi,
I don’t have those stats available
Ah I was wondering what software people use. It’s a bit obvious when accounts are powered by an automated tool or a va. This is really useful for a business oriented account.
Not if you blend in genuine human action as well!
Hi Matthew, I’m trying to use the Tweet tab to send out the RSS Tweets and it sent out 2 AOK yesterday but after those 2 and for the past 24+ hours it’s been saying it ”Cannot get new Tweet content from RSS” and yet there is plenty of stuff to Tweet out!!
I’ve tried all 3 RSS feed URLs (Inbound.org, AffPosts.com & Kingged.com) and I get the same results.
What is wrong here and how do I fix it please? I’ve already contacted TAP III support but not got a reply yet.
Here are my settings – sorry but I cannot see where I upload the screen shots, is there an email I can send them to you at? Anyway the settings are as you said they should be in your blog.
Are there any training videos or instructions on how to set the Tweets tab up for RSS Tweets? eg what are all the different encodings for?
Is a log of my activities kept anywhere in TAP III? If so where?
Many thanks, Kevin Walker.
Hi Kevin,
I would suggest speaking with support directly they helped me with a problem I had with the RSS module although the problem turned out to be me :P
Hi Matthew, I hope you are well?
This may be a little off message but here goes:
I came across a technique last week that I’d not heard of before for using emails to invite people to join you on Twitter in the hope they will click through to your blog and take up your offers.
You’re meant to scrap the emails of people using your keywords and a piece of software and then put the emails you get into the ”Invite friends via email” box i.e. in Twitter click on the Discover tab and then click on Find Friends in the left side bar and at the bottom of the list on the right is the ”Invite friends via email” box. You then load all the emails into the box and press the Invite Friends button.
I’ve not noticed any difference in my follow rate nor can I see where I get to find out if the emails went out and what the responses, etc were, etc.
I just wondered if you had any experience with this or opinions about it?
Many thanks.
Hi,
I haven’t heard about that before to be honest, have you got a link source? Certainly wouldn’t mind trying and reporting back!
Hi Matthew, here’s the link to the video explaining the method http://targetedleadsgenerator.com/SolutiontoSpammingVideo.mp4
And here’s the link for the software (not an affiliate link of mine!) http://www.targetedleadsgenerator.com/gurulistbusterfreeintro_controller.swf
Awesome thanks!
Hi Matthew, I’ve had TAP III for around 18 months now and have tried to get it fully up and running but was too afraid of using it the wrong way and getting my account suspended!! Then, today, I found this blog post and I’ve implemented all you teach in it and set it off running. Now I wait some great results!!
In the meantime and as we wait, I wonder if you could help me clear up an issue I have with TAP III’s Reply tab – which is the only one I have used in the 18 month of owning my copy as this was the main reason I bought it – i.e. to snipe on people using certain keywords and then @mention them and sell to them!
Here’s my issue with this process:~
I use TAP III to search for people Tweeting about ”make money online” and ”start my own online business” for example and TAP III then sends them a Tweet with my message and link in it. The message matches the content of the squeeze page I send them to so they know what to expect when they land on it and the link takes them there – obviously!
Over the past 4 days I’ve had 1,174 clicks on the link to my squeeze page which usually converts well but only 3 optins (0.25%) and no sales. I normally get 4.6% optins and some sales!
What could be wrong here?
1. Could it be a click bot (but why would someone do this)? – but I’ve checked out the people who I sent the Tweet to and they all look legit and genuine – no shady looking, etc accounts were Tweeted to but some of the accounts aren’t active and have not had new Tweets since 2009, 2012, 2013.
2. Is it the quality of the traffic I’m attracting and do I need to use different keywords? But the traffic is engaging with me and I’m have some great conversations with the Tweeters about my offer!
3. Why would they be clicking through and then not opting in if they feel the offer is for them (that’s why they click through right?) and the squeeze page converts well?
How can I better target people and get more buyer traffic to my offer?
Many thanks.
Hi,
I don’t use that module as its very easy to look like a massive spammer and get banned. I guess most results that meet your target terms are automated/bot posted stuff anyway rather than real people.
So this morning I get up to see maybe things have improved and that I needed to give this thing time. But it have not followed anyone, unfollowed, tweeted, or done any thing.
I then delete everything, START FROM SCRATCH and follow all your steps METICULOUSLY, to get the same results.
You cant tweet anyone
You can’t follow anyone
You cant’t tweet content
are some of the messages in the Status Area I get. Then some of them say there is a Reason, “Interval Time” Okay I say, maybe it needs to wait some time to be able to tweet so it doesn’t look suspicious. (Why wouldn’t it start with a tweet or a favorite before it resets the time – I dunno – but that is neither here nor there) NOPE. I wait the hour to see what happens when it resets and nothing, nothing.
How is it possible to follow your steps exactly and not get the same results? Did anyone else have these issues?
Hi Tim,
Sounds like you haven’t got something setup right – speak with support directly or read the manual
All I seem to see is that it is not working. I have followed your guidelines but all I get are errors.
“Cant tweet: reason Interval time (wait is hours)
Cant Favorite: reason Interval time (wait is hours)
Cant unfollow reason interval time (wait is minutes)” on and on and on.
Should it be real time data the right of the status? Where the follow/unfollow/tweet/ is? I am not seeing any changes even when it says task is complete in both that area and on my twitter account.
Frustrating end of the week I must say.
Speak with support directly, sounds like you messed up your wait settings
I had issues figuring out how do the excel part. Specifically once I downloaded the plugin and used it to find the Title Name, I could no longer edit it, because it was a function.
How did you work around this?
Same as with any formula in excel, highlight the data, copy, move to another column, right click > paste special > values
Back in the day, when sponsored tweets were all the rage, people would use klout.com to measure their influence. It uses a range of factors such as followers, retweets, mentions etc to give you a “klout” score. I’m not sure how useful it is now, but it used to be pretty good at telling pure spammy accounts from real authority ones.
My account is in the 60-70 range last time I checked if thats good!
Is the software available for Mac?
Don’t think so but I run it on a windows VPS via PowerUpHosting
By the way, your Excel formula reads =A1+B1+C1 but it should be =A1&B1&C1
You sir are correct – nice spot! fixed :)
Unrelated to the above… re: your content locker… do you actually print and generate a pdf by hand or is there a plugin you use to make the pdf on the fly?
Yeah I do it by hand
Any chance you have some FB Bot Traffic Tutorial :)
Not yet ;)
Thank you Matt ! I am waiting for your next posts about social network traffics.
No worrys :)
Thanks for sharing this Matthew – there are a few tips I really want to try out for myself. I will be interested to see the results.
No worrys!
Hi Matt I bought the following VPS through your link with the recommended company and for some reason the whitehatbox software doesn’t run. Have I bought the correct package ?
Product/Service: Windows SSD VPS – SSD One
Operating System: Windows Server 2008 R2 Web
1 CPU
20GB SSD Space
1GB DDR3 Dedicated RAM
Unmetered Bandwidth
Hi,
Yeah for sure and I have it running, check with whitebox support!
Can you target specific geo locations?
Yes with the Twitter advanced search feature
Awesome case study Matt. Sometimes I see more potential in Twitter than I see in Facebook. Facebook kind of became too untidy these days ( to me ) but Twitter is playing fair , slow and steady. However, one thing I am having nightmare with is, url cloaking. I used to use bitly but turns out recently, most of my shared links in recent days end up showing “suspicious link” messages though they are referring to clean and valuable url from high class authority sites. Any suggestions on what url cloaker I should be using ?
Thanks again. :)
Hey,
They are both good for different reasons depending on what you are trying to do!
You could just use the google url shortener?
Hey Matt,
This post you’ve put together is pure dynamite. Thanks for taking the time to do that. Very, very nice indeed. I’ll try to implement the strategy.
Cheers
PS: Hey, how do I put my image besides my comments on your blog? Thanks.
No worrys :)
It gets pulled in from Gravatar!
Yep, sorry, I noticed that the moment I hit “Submit Comment.” All good. Thanks for replying Matt :-D
Really good like it I’ll try for sure thanks !!
Good luck =D
Good to see you back. I was stuck on the MTTB and not happy about it :)
I would just say you could add TweetAdder 4.0 to drive similar results with 100% safety.
Thanks
Thanks Pipo!
Hey Matt,
I clicked your referral link to go to tweet attacks pro, but ended up getting a 404 server not found error and time out message after I cleared my cookies.
I want to make sure you get credit, can you please check with them and see if the redirect link works ok?
Thanks

It seems to be working this end for me, can you drop me an email with your order details please https://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/contact-me/
Twitter is my favorite social network, but thought it’s difficult to get followers. But you taught me that I am wrong. Let me try your #technique.
Thanks Matthew for your awesome guidance.
Regards,
No such thing as wrong, just things you havent tried yet :)
I am not really a Twitter person but I definately use it to stay up to date on news about Google and SEO through accounts like the one from Barry Schwartz.
Your guide certainly makes things easier but I am always worried about the way people generally treat Twitter. There is so much automation so I keep wondering if anybody reads the Tweets :D
Greetings from Austria,
Alexander
Well the automation isn’t a bad thing, its all around us in every minute of our lives from the grocery store to our phones. As long as its human driven automation it’s good to go =D
Having something auto generate tweets and blaze them out would be a bad idea for example.
Hey Matthew,
Another great article… never gave twitter much though outside of snippets from my blog post.
This is something I’m going to look into because I need to build my list and I really like using automation.
Maybe this could help me out in the affiliate sales dept as well… do you need anything special in the VPS?
No worrys :) No you just need a run of the mill windows vps!
Hardcore Twitter community doesn’t like follow-wait-unfollow tactics. I never follow someone just for following them back.
Also doesn’t like link dumping. I don’t follow persons that using Twitter as that.
You also can test TweetAdder (i’m not affiliated) too. Works similar, but run on OSX and Linux too.
I agree, but the hardcore community is a very small percentage of people on Twitter!
Hi Matt
Great tut, i use to use tweetadder for this kind of stuff but the developers in the end had to agreed to play ball with twitter!
i still use the software to find people in my niche but some aspects of automation has been removed and although the functions still exist it needs manual intervention which defies the major point of using such software (automation).
So my question is that i see that “tweets attack pro” does not use the twitter api but what is the likely-hood that “tweets attack pro” wont go away any time soon? Because at $197 (unlimited accounts version as i have more than 1 twitter account) it seems a tad expensive don’t you think?
Tweetadder was about $67 (up to 10 twitter accounts, if my memory serves me right) which i think for multiple twitter accounts was in my opinion a fair price to pay even though it has lost most its automation features.
regards
Nev
ps maybe I feel a competition brewing with a few lifetime licences up for grabs or an exclusive discount code! :)
Hi,
I’ve had my license for a while, since TAP2 which was auto upgraded to TAP3 free of charge and they are always releasing updates.
And I don’t see anything that needs manual intervention!
Hi Matt,
as you would use this technique to cpa offers?
Thanks.
I suppose you could do yes but I never have
Hey Matt,
great tutorial,
I wonder what you take is on starting this for a completely new project / twitter account. Do you think that would work out well? I think about it and simply delaying the follow tasks by a few days so I already have a few tweets under my belt. Your take?
I would let the account age a couple of weeks and just use it as normal across that time then start to ramp things gently with software.
I’ll be using this exact approach in my new case study :)
Had my account banned by using similar software. Even though this definitely works, I would be very careful with it.
Yes that is possible if you go too hard with it, its very easy to get carried away. With great power comes great responsibility!
Hi Matt,
Thanks for sharing! Great stuff here like always, i was wondering, does this works on mac? From your screenshots it seems it’s for windows and i can’t find any info on their website.
Can you let me know if you’re aware of that?
Thx
Yeah it is windows based but I run it on a windows VPS which means you can as well :)
What is the benefit of using a VPN for this?
By VPN do you mean VPS?
whoops – yes!
Well the same benefits of having a VPS for anything. It’s always on, connected to a fast line and doesn’t eat up local resources!
Twitter is probably my favorite social channel for business (with Google+ right next to it).
I do something very similar, only I take content for autoposting from buzzsumo.com
Ahhh very nice :) Can you pull RSS from buzzsumo?
No, but that’s a great idea :D I’m going to e-mail and suggest them that feature. If you could save your settings and get RSS feeds for the topic you want, that would be awesome
Oops, my mistake – yes you can :D you can set up content alerts with all of the filters you want and they deliver everything to your inbox (which you can get in real time or a daily digest).
I actually remember getting the e-mail about that new feature now, but I just ignored it at the time :p
Do you know if you can set negative/stop words and if you can set more than one keyword at a time?
Yeah use the advanced search!
I will try this for one of my accounts. How do you come up with hashtags for non seo related businesses?
Just take a look at the types of hashtags used commonly in your niche
I’ve been looking for a Tweet Adder replacement, this one looks great! Thanks Matt.
Once you’ve done this with Twitter, one should use an ifttt recipe to share each tweet to Google+ using Buffer (it’s not possible to send directly from twitter to g+ but it’s possible to use buffer to do so):
1. Create a Buffer Account
2. Link Buffer & G+
3. Use my recipe: https://ifttt.com/recipes/202859-twitter-buffer-google
4. Enjoy growth on G+ !
One could use it for Facebook & Linkedin but I don’t recommend it as people usually share less status on FB/LI than G+ / Twitter. Sharing too much info could be perceived negatively.
Very nice bonus tip :)
I have a tutorial for IFTTT here if anyone needs it https://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/seo/tools/ifttt/
Wow, 30 minutes set up time is impressive Matthew. I hadn’t heard of Tweet Attacks Pro.
Thanks for a very well explained tutorial on how to use the tool. Love seeing case studies like this.
No worrys hope it helps you – what other case studies would you like to see?
Thanks Matthew for the question.
Have you done any case studies on the ranking impact of internal linking? (Apologies if it is already here on your site and I have missed it.) I’ve just competed a small study of my own (still writing it up) and would be interested to see what results you might have observed.
Thks
I haven’t actually but I would love to see your study!
Thanks for your interest Matthew.
The results surprised me.
You can see my case study on ranking with internal links here:
http://www.websitetips4u.com/internal-linking/
There have been instances where automation/automated tools has gotten the accounts suspended or banned.
There were a number of companies that have been sued by Twitter in the past (http://allthingsd.com/20130528/twitter-wins-round-one-in-spammer-lawsuit-battle).
Auto-add/remove is not kosher per Twitter ToS. https://support.twitter.com/articles/76915-automation-rules-and-best-practices.
A big number of auto tweets can filter your tweets from search results on Twitter.
Matthew’s article is relevant, works, and there is no need to be scared. Don’t be aggressive, and you should be just fine :)
Yeah you have to be a little smart about it and make the bot act/behave like a human and not go crazy with it!
Its the same guy who made “Spinner chief.” I’ve been using his spinning software for a while and in my opinion its better then WordAI. never really put much thinking about twitter traffic and after seeing your post i might grab a copy of Twitter attack pro soon!!
cheers Matthew!
Yes I belivee it is :)
Yup, I did something similar with an older piece of software back in 2011. Can’t remember what it was called, there are loads of them nowadays that all do the same thing. Gained something like 10,000 followers in six months, auto following and tweeting really does the trick.
It does indeedy =D
Maaaatt,
You do realize you made me so curious I just had to check my Twitter stats, ALL of them? Then I realized I’ve been so stuck up with working on stuff, didn’t have time to attend any twitter chats and my data showed a drop off, pretty hard one. So I better get back on tracks with the blog and twitter, too.
Btw, this is a really cool report, omg, and the numbers are crazy. The statistician side of mine is like blown away, that’s one hell’of’a’tool and the results look pretty neat for a 2-months experiment. Me encanta! :D
Hahahaha well you are a data nerd :P
I’ve been a bit slack with Twitter myself recently, but luckily my new employee has been doing the heavy lifting :)
Loving your case studies!
Going to implement this strategy and hope it works for me as well!
Good luck Alvin!
I just found out there is no Mac version of this :(
Do you know any alternatives that I can try?
Another commenter said TweetAdder is mac compatible or just use a Windows VPS, or buy a real computer :P
Alvin’s Macbook Pro: “I’m Mac and I find this comment offensive”
Lol thanks for the alternative, I’ll check it out.
Hahahaha :)
Wicked. Helpful as always. Love your approach to automation of pretty much everything.
Well not everything, but I’ll take software over humans for most things :P
Ha true dat. Hey question, have you ever covered on how you stay focused/productive/organized with your businesses and managing workload? You appear to have some work/life balance yeah?
Well I use http://www.thesecretweapon.org/ personally and it might appear I have the work/life balance right, but trust me I don’t!
I tend to work crazy hours for 2-3 weeks then a week of taking it easy (well, easier) lol
The hashtag is assuming you are in that niche. Each site owner needs to do the same with a niche hashtag that they previously determined is appropriate for their website and followers. Just thought your newbie followers will benefit from this clarification.
Thanks for the tip!
Hi Matthew,
This is a great to increase traffic for website.
Is that natural traffic when using this tool? If I use this tool to increase traffic, do Google penalty my site?
Thanks,
Hi,
Yes this is entirely separate from Google/SEO/rankings
Matt – this is quite the case study. I’ve mainly been focused on other social media channels, but I might have to get back into Twitter now. First I’ve heard of Tweet Attacks Pro – will definitely have to check it out. Great stuff!
No worrys hope it helps you to grow!
this guy was sued by Twitter?
would be useful if this traffic convert for you (sign ups, orders etc)
Which it does :)
No idea?
Yeah…that was way back in 2012 I think, when we were blackhating like no one’s business…I already have been using this new TAPIII with quite a number of accounts, but had not yet considered seriously using it the way you have put it…may be I should do that for this month..and run it for 4 weeks…
Twitter traffic definitely is useful if you warm it first before selling, otherwise, you will be disappointed…but one thing is clear, it converts like crazie especially if you get their emails.
i did experiment sometime back Matt, and I found that the click through rate using bit.ly was higher than that of other shortened urls…I dont know if you have tried that…nice stuff there..
Thanks for sharing your findings about the comparative CTR of different URL shorteners Mickoh.
Where are these comparisons as I cannot see them?
How do you go about warming Twitter traffic?
Yes. He was sued back in 2012 and a lot of people (myself included) lost money on tweet attacks then. When he re-released the software he never contacted the people who purchased it previously to apologize or offer them a discount. Me personally? I could not buy from someone with those business practices.
#my2cents
I will use a competitor.
Which guy?
